The Pug possesses a happy-go-lucky attitude which is highly infectious. They are very affectionate and love to play. With a sharp intelligence, they can easily get bored when variety is not injected into their training sessions. They can be strong-willed when they fail to see a firm human leader. Pugs make good watchdogs but they are not yappers, thus making them ideal dogs for apartment living. They can get along well with children and other pets. It is relatively inactive while living indoors and can do well in houses without a yard to play in. It loves staying indoors because their short muzzles make them less adaptable to extreme weather conditions.
